There are many facets to a Web site design. This sampling of work by Design Science illustrates some features that may apply to your Web project. If you're looking for an element that you don't see represented here please contact us. Chances are we've done what you're looking for or can offer some information on how it can be incorporated into your project.
HomeGateRealty.com
Owner:
HomeGate Realty, Reno, NV
Design Criteria:
HomeGate has many repeat clients and wanted to keep the look and feel of the site reminiscent of the previous design while adding elegance and a better focus on buying and selling homes.
Of Special Note:
The home page includes two interactive Flash elements: the Find Your Home banner and the area map. Both are designed to fit seamlessly with the design of the site until the user places the mouse over them. Also, a randomizing feature was built into the "Agents" page, giving each agent an equal chance at "top billing" when visitors view that page.

CBS5.com
Owner:
CBS-TV, New York / KPIX-TV, San Francisco
Design Criteria:
CBS wanted to create Web sites that would serve as 24/7 news and information portals for their owned-and-operated TV stations. These "Always On" sites provide breaking news updates as well as financial, entertainment, and sports information. CBS5.com is one example of these sites.
Of Special Note:
The video player, designed under Stu's direction, is a unique and high-performance player that allows user to easily browse the day's news stories. The sites were crafted in strict XHTML for long-term standards compliance and performance.

GEPPDiesel.com
Owner:
General Engine Powered Products, Reno, NV
Design Criteria:
General Engine Powered Products offers high-performance custom diesel engines and parts. Thier customers include dealers and military buyers as well as retail clients. A unique shopping cart customization allows GEPP to offer pricing levels appropriate to the type of customer.
Of Special Note:
This site features two unique ways of finding parts: a cross-reference search engine that can relate sub-assemblies and parts to the assembly that contains them, and an exploded view map that permits customers to find parts by their location within the engine.

Biz-Net.com
Owner:
Business Network Services, LLC, Reno, NV
Design Criteria:
Biz-Net wanted to update their site with better graphics and an improved marketing message. Somewhat disassociated elements were replaced with images and content that tell a story: "Problem + Solution + Unique Product = Happy Clients".
Of Special Note:
Biz-Net.com is an ongoing project but will soon offer a Flash banner that illustrates the cost of computer systems being down and how their services can help minimize exposure to this eventuality.

CreativeMonogram.com (intro animation)
Owner:
Creative Monogram, Reno , NV
Design Criteria:
Creative Monogram wanted to spice up their site with a lead-in animation that illustrates their core business. Note: Creative Monogram's Web site was not designed by Design Science ...but we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Of Special Note:
Since Flash does not do perspective transforms the the 3D "stand-up" effect was rendered in Swift3D. This better gives the impression of their logo being stitched, picked up, and revealed as being on a "shirt". The audio is a recording of Creative's own stitching machine.

Life-Compass.com
Owner:
Andy Hill / Life Compass
Design Criteria:
The goal of this site was to quickly answer questions visitors may have about coaching without ever leaving the home page. At all turns the user is encouraged to make contact. The design is very personal as it reflects Andy's sensibilities about one's journey through life and career.
Of Special Note:
This site include a client area where users can retrieve documents pertinent to their work with Andy. Administrative pages allow the site text and client information to be updated. An interactive compass adds an interesting element to the home page.
